Check that the fabric is tightly pulled. Well-made upholstered furniture should not have any unwanted tucks or dimples. The slipcover should be smooth and fitting. Check to see if any staples or nails are protruding as they will snag clothing. Feel the arm of the sofa frame. If you can feel it through the padding, then the cover material may wear out prematurely, especially in high contact areas that people lean against or sit on. Check that the fabric patterns match and are centred properly. The stitches should be neat and evenly spaced.
